Winnie Koima
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (APRN, PMHNP-BC) and the owner of a private psychiatric practice dedicated to providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. With more than 20 years of nursing experience and master's degrees in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and Public Health, I bring a holistic, patient-centered approach that addresses the biological, psychological, and social aspects of mental health.
I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations during the initial visit, followed by in-depth, solution-focused follow-up care tailored to each individual's needs. Together, we develop a personalized treatment plan that may include evidence-based medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, and practical coping strategies to support lasting emotional wellness.
I specialize in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions and psychiatric disorders, including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder with co-occurring mental health conditions, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), trauma-related disorders, sleep disturbances, and other emotional and behavioral concerns. I have a special interest in supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder and addressing the unique challenges associated with co-occurring psychiatric conditions.
Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. Whether your treatment includes psychotherapy, medication management, or an integrated approach, you'll receive individualized care in a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported.
“You don't have to navigate mental health challenges alone. Healing begins with feeling understood.
I am committed to partnering with you every step of the way.
Together, we'll work toward improving your mental, emotional, and overall well-being so you can live a healthier, more fulfilling life.”
